Where land asks the most per perch
Of the 78 towns in our dataset with at least 20 land ads, all 8 of the highest median asking prices per perch are in Colombo district. The highest is Dehiwala at Rs 5 million (31 ads). The first town on the list outside Colombo district is Weligama, Matara, at Rs 2.2 million (163 ads).
At the other end, Galaha asks Rs 105,000 per perch, about 48 times less than Dehiwala. The spread is wide, and the lowest-ask towns have only 22 to 44 ads each.

How to read it
A perch is 25.29 square metres. Medians from 20 to 30 ads move a lot from one day to the next, so compare the range columns, not only the median. Asking price per perch also depends on plot size, road frontage and whether a house stands on the land, which the ads do not report consistently.

These are asking prices from public listings, not sale prices. A median from a small number of ads is a hint, not a market. Nothing here is valuation or investment advice. The method page explains the cleaning rules and limits.
