About PropertyLens
PropertyLens shows what Sri Lankan property is being offered for, town by town. It collects public listings, removes obvious errors, and reports medians and ranges with the number of ads behind each figure, so a reader can see how thin or thick a number is.
What you can do here
- Price check: pick a property type, town and size to see an asking range and the working.
- Map: each town coloured by its going rate.
- Apartments: complexes priced by size and bedrooms.
- Trends: CBSL asking-price indices and published quarterly averages.
- Town pages: a plain-text summary for each town with enough listings.
What it is not
It is not a valuation, an agent, or a record of sale prices. Sellers ask more than buyers pay. Read the method before relying on any figure.
Who runs it
PropertyLens is built and run by Vinuda Weerasinghe, who also publishes MacroLens, a Sri Lankan macro data terminal. Questions, corrections and data issues: contact.
